Classic Car Night

So apparently, Folsom has an annual classic car event called "Graffitti Night" which just so happened to be rocking about 100ft from our hotel while we were in California. It was a really fun event to walk around - mainly because the downtown shops and classic cars were a perfectly nostalgic blend. Here were some of my favorite snaps from our walk through the streets.

Enjoy!

I love this gal...

So while my wife and I were in Folsom, CA shooting a promo video for Megan Squires Photography, we took the ol' ultra-wide 14mm wide angle lens and a full-frame 5Dmkii on a little stroll through the scenery. Now many of you know this probably isn't the most versatile setup to use as a walk-about camera, but it actually brought a pretty exciting element to the snapshots. Especially with all of the great scenery, trails, bridges, and huge trees around us. We took a ton of photos on the trip, bue here were some of my favorite snaps that included the lovely wifey...although you may have to look closely on a few :)

Enjoy!

Cara & John's Wedding

So, Cara and John are good friends of ours who were planning their wedding all by themselves. Rachel, my wife, worked along-side Cara to help plan the entire event, since our wedding was also very DIY. Cara's vision for the day envolved deep "sangria" reds and peacock feathers. Well, I'd say they made it happen! :)

Cara asked if I could do the photos, since they didn't have anyone lined up as a photographer yet. Now, I'd never photographed a wedding before (remember - I make my living filming weddings...not photographing them!), but I couldn't turn down the chance to help tell the story of their big day! Anyways - after a little prep and a couple of nightmares involving just about every thing that could go wrong on my end, the day went off without a hitch! The whole event was at our little church (The River) and everyone enjoyed themselves!

As much as I enjoyed being able to take a walk on the "stills" side of things, I have to say I don't plan to move towards the title "wedding photographer" any time soon! (Although, it defintely was nice not to have to carry 50lbs of gear or worry about capturing audio throughout the event!)

My best wishes to Cara and John! I hope you enjoy!

Tina's Senior Pics

So this was a blast of a session! I got the chance to shoot my sister-in-law's senior shots...and luckily she (as well as her two lovely sisters) has an incredibly unique style. We decided to go a slightly different direction than the typical senior portraits and I really hope she likes how they came out. Enjoy!
